Another Weekend at the Cabin w/Grandma and Poppa

This is the first weekend we've spent at the cabin that we did not have ALL rain.  It's a good thing, too, because Chris and I slept in a tent all weekend.  Mom and Dad's friends were out, and we thought it'd be more comfortable for everyone if we didn't all sleep together.  So we appreciated the lack rain, though were surprised by the noise territorial crows can make early in the morning.  It's funny, we were perfectly able to fall asleep amidst loud and bright fireworks, but there was no chance we were sleeping through the crows.

Here George is, being his normal, happy, curious self, playing on the patio.

He loves his spray bottle, and finds it especially funny to spray people.  He was a bit surprised though, the first time that Fred took the bottle from him and sprayed him back.  But soon that became just as fun!

On the 4th of July, Chris and I took George for a walk to see the baby horses.  Grandma had taken him to see them the day before while I was studying and Chris was working on the greenhouse, and he was excited to go back to see, "Two baby hoesies!"  I love this next picture because Chris is trying to be silly by pulling a face, but George's expression matches his to a tee.

The saying, "Like Father like Son" proven once again.

Chris carried George to the horses, and I carried him home.

Whenever we stay at the cabin, Mom and Dad are great and they let George sleep with them.  Now George is usually nice to them and sleeps through the night, and I know Grandma adores waking up to a little grinning face and the words, "Hi Grannma" in that little sweet voice.  But the reason Chris and I are so lucky, is it usually means we get a bit of a lie in, and Grandma feeds George breakfast.  George's current favorite breakfast is, "Grandma's yogurt" -strained Greek yogurt with 3-berry granola. He asks for it by name (Grandma's yogurt), even if Grandma is not there.  So here is my cheeky son eating Grandma's yogurt, while Grandma gets ready to go work in the garden.
