Strawberry Festival

In the last week of June we headed out one Saturday with our good friends and went to the Strawberry Festival.  It was sponsored by the historical society and billed as an "old fashioned" event.  Well, it consisted of a lot more chiropractic booths than anything "historic" but was fun nonetheless.  It was very hard to find any strawberries though.

I thought it would be fun to get George's face painted.  I realize that this was much more for me than for George, but big mean Mommy wanted to see my sweet boy's face painted, and how he would react.  We found a booth that did airbrush painting, and it seemed like that would be better, because it would be fast.  George wasn't so sure, but was happy in the end.  Thank you Georgie, for helping Mommy experience one more of those "rites of Motherhood" she wanted to experience.

See, traumatized for life!  :-)

Since it was a hot day, we let George head next into the splash park.  Here he ran around, chased the water and watched all of the other, often bigger, kids.

After some fun wet-time at the Splash park, we rejoined our older friends Carson and Elise for some play time on Dizzy's Tumblebus!  George was very excited.  On our way to the festival, we rode a school bus.  It was George's first ever bus ride.  Whenever we are driving, he loves to point out buses!  "Bus!" he shouts.  "School bus!"  "City Bus" "Big bendy bus!"  So getting to play on a school bus was pretty neat.  But the best part was getting "drive" the school bus.

Can you tell he likes Carson??

After the Tumblebus, Georgie had some good hang out time with Daddy!

Then that evening after a very busy, tiring day, George decided he needed some nak ed time running around our house.  He has been using his potty several times a day for the past several weeks.  He has even used the "big toilet" on several occasions.  So he is getting very near to being potty trained.  But daycare does stand in the way, as they do not do much at this age to encourage him, so he only goes at home or when out with mommy.  But he is very, very proud every time he uses the potty.

What a wonderful day in the life of our boy!
