A Walk at the Cabin, and a SLUG!

Last weekend we went to the cabin for opening season for crab.  We arrived Friday night, just in time for George to take a bath and head to bed.  Poppa was there for the weekend, and he let George sleep in his room.  I think they both really enjoyed that.  I know Georgie loves waking up and seeing his Poppa right there.  And George was nice and slept while Poppa read in bed at night, and even when he talked on the phone to Grandma.  And he didn't wake up during the night or get Poppa up too early in the morning.  Even if George would wake up, he'd chatter and play very quietly in the pack-n-play until Poppa got up.  Then he was ready to go with a giant grin.

George and I took a walk in the rain on Saturday, just to get out of the house for a while.  For at least half of our walk the rain stopped, and the rest it was nice enough to just drizzle.  All the rain made for some great mud puddles that George practiced jumping in.  He also had fun putting his hands in the puddles, playing with Jazzie and putting rocks in the puddles.

Then George discovered a slug.  I told him he could touch it, but he did not want to.  I asked him if he wanted Mommy to touch it, and he backed up and said, "noo."  So instead he stared at it for a long time, then threw rocks at it, and tried to touch it with rocks.  When we got back to the house, I asked him to tell Poppa about the slug.  His reply, "I threw rocks at it!"

George also went to pick me some flowers on our walk.  Everytime he sees roadside daisies, he wants to pick them for Grandma.  But since Grandma was not there this weekend, he picked them for "Mommy" and "Jazzie!"

And finally, what we all came for, CRAB!  Beautiful, yummy red rock crab.
