Cold Water Boy

It was 60 degrees yesterday, so we headed down to the park to play on the playground.  This park is right on the lake, and after many trips down the slide (all by himself), George headed down to the lake.  He was having a lot of fun picking up rocks, but wasn't responding too happily to mommy's hold on him - keeping him out of the water.  All the good rocks are under the water.  So, why not?  It was a learning moment.  So I let go and he marched right on in and had a wonderful time throwing rocks.  Then he ventured a little further (to his knees) and had a blast walking back and forth across the shallows.  Luckily he didn't seem to mind mommy's hand on the back of his shirt, just in case.  But he definitely takes after his mommy--daddy won't go anywhere near cold water unless he has long johns and waders on.  After about 10 minutes, we headed to the car and changed him into a nice fleecy romper and his little toes were toasty warm (though bare since we didn't have a change of shoes) within 3 minutes!
