Indian Sculpture Garden

Several nights into our visit, we were surprised by the arrival of Chris's Aunt Mavis and her friend John.  We had not seen Mavis for many years and were touched that she came to see us and meet George.  The morning after our night in Dublin, we met up with Ray, Karen, Joyce, Mavis and John at the Victoria Indian Sculpture Garden.  It was a fascinating place, set up by a lovely man who had spent his life traveling the world "searching."  He spent years as a monk, and lived most of his life alone.  He said it was difficult to be young with a tremendous faith, but no belief.  He came into a large amount of money and set up this interesting park.  It started with a field of Ganesh, but soon became much darker.  The trail was a meditation trail, and the sculptures represented the path of life. It was very interesting.

Note the rat in trousers and a polo shirt...a bit modern, eh?

and the rat has a mac?  I'm guessing these sculptures were done during the 80s.

Katy and Dan's dog, Jess, managed to lie down in each area under the sign.  Curious dog.

This rat has a sony walkman...

We had a picnic on the grounds, and George loved sitting on the swing with his Grandma and his Gigi.

About 3/4 of the way through the park, George found this little girl.  He gave her a hug and then followed her everywhere.
